Criteria: prestige, merit, matriculation, tradition, rivalries, notability, alums, etc.

1. Sidwell
2. NCS and STA
3. GDS
4. Maret
5. Potomac
6. Holton and Landon
7. Bullis
8. Maderia
9. WIS
10. SR and GP
11. SJC
12. Episcopal
13. St Andrews
14. St Stephens St Agnes
15. Visi and Gonzaga

I've re-arranged the list and rightfully, Bullis has been removed. I also removed a couple of other schools not worth mentioning. This is THE list.

1. Sidwell
2. NCS and STA
3. GDS
4. Holton and Landon
5. Potomac
6. Maret
7. Visi and Gonzaga
8. Maderia
9. SR and GP
10. SJC

Why did you remove Bullis? Bullis is most definitely above Visi and Gonzaga, especially in terms of matriculation, alums and tradition. If anything SR and GP are above them. Here is THEE list. Also its a big 15 thread not big 10.

1. Sidwell
2. NCS and STA
3. GDS
4. Potomac
5. Holton and Landon
6. Maret
7. Maderia
8. Bullis
9. SR and GP
10. WIS
12. SJC
13. Visi and Gonzaga
14. SAES
15. Episcopal

Are you effing serious???? Ask people on this board what the Bullis "traditions" are. Now ask them about Visi and Gonzaga traditions - you don't even have to go to these schools to know what they are.

The Big3 are STA, NCS, GDS and Sidwell because they're the only ones of this group that grade the way they do.
I.e. average GPA of around 3.5, top GPA in the class somewhere around a 3.9+, classes that limit As to one or two kids, no bump for honors or APs.

Call them the "Big3" or the "grade deflated 3" or whatever you want to but they're unique in this among the 15.

Can you post smth insightful? That has clearly been established as no one has changed the top 3 ranks.

Ha!

1. Sidwell
2. STA
3. NCS (I intentionally put this 3rd because I don't actually think STA and NCS are even)
4. GDS (often mistaken for "big 3" because of the neighborhood debacle and harder than usual few years for entrance...still a great school but isn't higher than 4 at the moment)

5-15: Everyone else with caveats into two buckets -

Toward the top of the everyone else:
Madeira, Potomac (both of these might be higher if they weren't in VA) - Holton - Visitation - Prep/Gonzaga, Maret

The bottom of the everyone else:
SR, SJC, Bullis, Landon, SAES

Other schools discussed here: Most people have never heard of them...yes, including BIM

Holton and Landon are very very different schools. Should not be lumped together. Holton in 4th/5th is fine but Landon should not be top 10.

Big Four: Sidwell, TJ, and the Cathedral schools. No other schools matter to anyone who isn’t from the area.

No, because Holton is above both Maret and Potomac.
Always

Peak delusion

Reality. There is not one ranking in the world who would put Maret and Potomac above Holton

No one outside the area knows the Cathedral schools. Sidwell is known because of the Obamas and Chelsea Clinton.
The schools that matter to people outside of the area are TJ and Blair.

Other than 18:10, all of you who mentioned Madeira are too dumb to be there because you can’t even spell it.

Ahem, this is a private school thread. Take you and the rest of the TJ minions back to FCPS. I’m surprised TJ didn’t teach you how to read. No adding or removing the PRIVATE SCHOOLS already on the list.

What even is Blair….? Never heard of them…

I believe PP was saying peak delusion to the Holton comment. Because yes, pmac and maret are way above Holton.
