Grown men wearing AirPods give anyone else the ick?

Anonymous
I've never thought headphones or earphones make anyone look a certain gender or douchey.

But apparently I'm not a petty judgmental shrew. Takes all kinds!

Even though I take off my jean shorts, I still wear an old school Bluetooth while having sex. You have to give respect to get respect.

Or maybe it's just men who seem to have them in their ears all day (doing what, listening to NPR or podcasts all day? like they can't just enjoy some silence and their own thoughts). I can't explain it but it gives me the ick.

Real men do not listen to NPR.

After all only women and children can enjoy listening to things.

Sorry, yes, walking around listening to audiobooks is ick.

Don't forget to slip off your sandals, too.

I didn't say it affects me, I said it's difficult to explain why it gives me the ick. My theory as to why is maybe it seems juvenile or feminine? I am not totally sure. Nonetheless it's ick.

Exactly my thought!

I wear AirPods when I walk so that I don't disturb others. I listen to audiobooks and am learning a language. If anyone wants to judge me, that's on them.

I think this response teases out the male personality type that does this, which makes it ick. Having AirPods in your ear all day so you can pretend to "read" countless books is ick. A male putting a piece of electronics in his ears to avoid the world around him is ick. It's just not masculine behavior.

You need to be hypnotized to find out why that makes you feel "ick". This is not normal, OP.

Did you father ignore you as a child?

How do you feel about men wearing earrings?

This is definitely the “ick” poster obsessed with Travis Kelce from the other thread

This has to be a troll. Men listening to audio books are “ick”? Man, if this is a woman posting this, what has the world come to?
