Where was this outrage over the deaths of civilians in Syria, in Yemen, in South Sudan? Didn't fit your personal truth? Oh yeah, and it didn't involve the Jews. But carry on internet person.

Tens of thousands of people, including thousands of children, have been killed and over a million people displaced. If I have to choose between ignoring the situation or being called a hypocrite, I'll happily go with hypocrite. In fact, I will probably be comfortable with any other names that you will want to call me because I don't think this on-going atrocity should be ignored. I am sorry that you are apparently comfortable with the killing.

Wait, but 600,000 killed in Syria including 4,000 Palestinians should be ignored?

What's funny is that it has been answered thousands of times.

No country is willing to be complicit in the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians from Israel.

That’s your answer? How incredibly typical. Middle eastern countries could be helping the Palestinians evacuate so that Hamas can be rooted out. But they’re not. Because they don’t want the Palestinians and because they don’t want Hamas to be rooted out. It’s very simple, you just refuse to speak the truth.

I spoke the truth. No one is evacuating anyone without an ironclad guarantee that they can back. This has actually been asked and Israel has refused to provide that guarantee.

Israel is more than capable of setting up a refugee camp in the Negev. It would even help them screen for Hamas, acquire the biodata it wants, and mute much of the criticism it has gotten. Doing so is in Israel's own interest but it won't do it because the Israeli Government has reasons I guess.

Let me repeat, no country on this planet is willing to be complicit in an effort to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from Israel and the Occupied Territories. Every country, including the United States, has been very explicit about this.

No. Let me know what protest activities you are planning and I will try to join you.

Exactly. The essential nature of Hamas should disqualify them from any kind of even oblique support in the U.S. and Europe. But too many progressives, who have never lived through war, sleep so soundly in their own beds that they don’t consider the consequences of playing into the terrorists’ cards, of trivializing the Holocaust, of “contextualizing” genocide.

The civilized world (and, yes, I am using that loaded term meaningfully and to include vast populations of non-radicalized Arabs) should be doing everything they can to clear Gaza of civilians so Israel can vanquish Hamas.

Call it an atrocity or mass civilian casualties. Ethnic cleansing? Genocide? No. This kind of mislabeling doesn’t help promote a ceasefire or Israeli moderation (if that’s what you actually care out). It makes you look like a radicalized progressive desperate for a new hashtag.

It’s not mislabelling just because you don’t agree 🙄

I don't know what to tell you. There is no other phrase besides ethnic cleansing to describe the act of banishing a group of people from a territory

I don’t think Israel is as different from Hamas as you imagine. They are both guilty of terrorism and I loathe both sides.

I went to Israel 30 years ago with high hopes that as a nonbeliever there would be some type of spiritual epiphany or at least feeling since three major monotheistic religions have roots there. Instead I found some much tension and a feeling of heaviness from everyone from all three religions. (Loved going to Egypt and Jordan on the same trip due to all the amazing ruins).

Since then I just am not interested at all in what happens there. I really wonder what percent of Americans just really don't care much about the plight of anyone in Israel/Palestine and are more focused on other things? Am I an outlier and most Americans are passionate one way or the other?

You went to Israel in the 90s in search of an epiphany? Fascinating.

So interesting - and disgusting that the progressive left has been completely silent regarding the many rapes of Israeli women by Hamas on October 7. Not just rapes, but mutilation. Apparently, it’s inconvenient for the progressive left to speak out about these atrocities against women committed by Hamas. Just repulsive.

I condemn all sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas.

Will you join me in condemning the killing of innocent Palestinian women by Israel?

I am not the PP. Would I condemn it if an IDF solider walked up to a Palestinian woman during this war and shot her without cause, yes.

lol. Is that why countries closed their doors to Jews during the Holocaust? It was some kind righteous response to genocide? I don’t think what’s happening in Gaza is genocide, but your point is moronic.

Obviously not PP, but ...

Nearly everyone (and certainly anyone hoping to be taken seriously) unequivocally condemns Hamas for the innocent loss of life and injuries caused by their actions before, on, and after 10/7/2023.

Can you be counted on to unequivocally condemn the State of Israel, the IDF, and the settler community for the innocent loss of life and injuries caused by their actions before, on, and after 10/7/2023?

And can we further count on you to acknowledge that the ratio is massively skewed to Palestinian deaths and injuries?

So you're all-in that the State of Israel is morally equivalent to Nazi Germany? That others should provide shelter from that level of pure evil?

Wow. Off script, bro. Pull your mask back up.

What land, and funded with Israeli dollars, will Palestinians be given by the US?

No, I specifically said I don’t think they’re comparable. But your answer to why other country won’t take in Palestinians is idiotic. I don’t think Palestinians should have to emigrate, but there are reasons other Arab countries won’t take them in.
