If anyone has concerns regarding the protestors, I highly recommend you consider joining the protest outside of the Israeli embassy in DC. I happened to wander up there after Israel killed the WCK workers to join in on the protests. For reference, I'm a true-born white American man in my mid 30's (def stuck out like a sore thumb in the group and the people in the group may have figured me to be an FBI agent of some kind). During my time there, I generally found the group to be pretty level headed - their leader in particular was quite inspiring, loving, and had really thought out the issues in their entirety.

The only negative actions during my time there came from a group of pro-Israeli instigators that really seemed to be there with the intent of eliciting a response. In one instant a group pulled up, hopped out of a bus with cameras and were really getting up in people's faces / personal space. The pro-Palestinian group was well coached to remain calm and not create a situation that could be misrepresented (ie a sound bite on CNN of someone saying something anti-semitic).

As I carried a sign saying, "Stop the purposeful killing of aid workers", the vast majority of those passing by honked in support. However, one man felt the need to call me a rapist repeatedly from his car while stopped at a red light. My sign was pretty clear - STOP TARGETING AMERICAN CITIZENS AND WCK WORKERS. Apparently, this man considers my message to be akin to rape.

First hand experience is powerful. I fear the news media isn't portraying the situations on there various college campuses accurately - whether it be due to the desire to optimize ratings and sensationalize news or a more sinister biased support for Israel. Be careful what you learn through "independent" news sources. The powers that be are all flexing their propaganda machines at this time. Information war is upon us.

This is not to avenge anyone. It’s war to put an end to Hamas and future terrorist attacks. Israel is ensuring a safe future. The number will be however many need to die until the terrorism stops. Israel is done playing games.

As someone mentioned a few pages back, a
Hamas is an idea. How do you kill an idea? Plus with its leadership in Qatar and the guy who planned 10/7 no where to be found how do you kill the self declared Hamas?

And of course the kids who watched their parents, sisters, brothers, cousins killed are not going to be all lovey dovey with Israel when this is over. Remember how Isis was the reaction to Iraq/Afganistan? Something worse than Hamas can rise up from the ashes.

Yes, 10/7 was horrible and should be condemned, but "the low of the low"? How about mass executions of patients at al-Shifa? Indiscriminate bombing of families in Gaza? Looking the other way while terroristic settlers harass and kill Palestinians in the West Bank and burn their homes with the goal of stealing their land? Incarcerating thousands of Palestinians, including minors, without charges (no different from taking hostages)? Kidnapping, stripping, and torturing Palestinian men? Throttling the flow of desperately needed food and medicine into Gaza so that children die of malnutrition and disease? Using children and animals in Gaza for target practice? Allowing IDF members to steal private property from Palestinians in Gaza? Completely destroying schools and universities? Murdering aid workers who are trying to help Palestinians? Murdering journalists who want to expose the story?

How is any of this any different from 10/7? And why would this out-of-control behavior (on both sides, but much more prevalent on the Israeli side) make either Israel or Gaza any safer and less inclined to hate the other side?

False equivalency. Every point you make can be refuted. But it is sad that Hamas provoked war and are still keeping over a hundred hostages. They could end it right now. Also the equivalence that these “youths” that are imprisoned for terrorist attempts are equivalent to the hostages kept against their will are laughable. Israel only rescued 2 hostages since October. If they can’t find the hostages, then presumably they aren’t finding/fighting Hamas or their stomping grounds/operation centers so who are they killing?
