What’s going on with UMD frats? There has been a cease and desist order for them due to some recent incidents. Is it really bad to pledge there? |
Same at uva |
Same as anywhere. |
Same as it ever was. |
Personally I think they should be banned outright across the board. |
Np. This does look different than regular frat suspensions. Usually if one specific frat screws up, they are put on suspension.
UMD has suspended ALL frats and sororities. |
This is a tradition that has outlived its usefulness |
Frats are still tied to alcohol abuse, sexual assault, and hazing. Bad things happen and then you see some improvement and then it creeps back in again. Here are some thoughtstarters:

Something dramatic going on at UMD. I hope resolved soon. My DS doesn't want to go there, but I would be stressed if he was. UVA also had an issue |
What about the frats makes them more dangerous than dorm life or non frat off campus housing? Lack of RAs and neighbors who call the landlord or the police?
Maybe frats should buy a social hall and not live together. |
