How are they now? Two years ago, all the obs were leaving and it was nearly impossible to get appointments. Wondering if I should stick to them or find a new practice |
I just found out I was pregnant and was able to schedule appointments easily. Seems like they’ve hired a lot of new providers too since I had MULTIPLE options of scheduling which definitely wasn’t the case before! |
Called on Monday and got an appointment right away.
My friend who is further along than me, met two of the new doctors and said they were fantastic! |
No. I almost died there |
Which ones? That’s great news! |
I was with them last year at this time. It was great then. Their downsizing seemed to act as a 'right sizing'. |
Dr. LaTortue and Dr. Jilich were who my friend saw. Loved them both! |
Thank you! |
by right away do you mean to be seen right away or they scheduled you immediately for 12 weeks? I ended up miscarrying so it didn't matter but when i called in october they would only schedule me for 12 weeks |
Sorry for your loss. I was able to schedule for 8 and I think if you mention your loss, they can fit you in then too. |
Wow good to know- if I'm able to get pregnant again I'll definitely try. They did nurse screening by phone at 8 weeks and genetics at 10 on zoom but no in person until 12 weeks |
care to elaborate? |
I think 12 week scheduling for the first in person is standard at GW now. If you recently had a miscarriage they may be willing to schedule for 8. I am happy with my scheduling this time around- night and day from two years ago, but then the OBs I loved are gone too. |
Same here. I don’t know any of the OBs that they offer to schedule me with anymore. Not to sound ageist but many seem young and inexperienced. |
That’s because GW is a teaching hospital and they go through staff like a revolving door. If you don’t want the risk of a rookie OB go to a private practice. |
