Where is the middle on abortion? I see NO GOP willing to legislate for the Roe-V Wade standard. What we see are total bans, bans at 6 weeks or 12 weeks. What happens if something happens to the fetus at 20 weeks? Just make the woman carry it to term everything else be damned?

Where is the middle on guns? I see NO GOP legislating for a middle ground. All unfetted access with NO background checks or other restrictions.

I could go on, but there is no middle we can all live with where the current GOP is concerned.

Manchin isn’t my dream candidate either.

I’d like to think that there are a lot of Americans like me who would give up some political goals that are important to them in order to re-establish a middle in this country.

I prefer no abortion ban, but I'd be okay with maybe a 15 week restriction with generous exceptions for health of the fetus/pregnant woman.

I am okay with stringent background checks and a waiting period before gun purchases.

Manchin is a WV conservative Democrat. The Democratic Party changed, not Manchin. Manchin is a reliable support of the Dems on Senate rules votes, committee majorities, and such, but votes on laws aligned with WV values of the WV people who vote for him.

He has no national appeal for the Democrats, but he is the best Democrat in West Virginia for the Senate.

Except Manchin has been torpeoding Biden proposals to protect his personal coal interests. That is not a democrat or GOP issue, it is just plain corruption.
