By email I think the pp meant the Valor Standard newsletter that was emailed last week. You can also see the coaching assignments on social media…instagram at least. |
Does Valor send out their interest email to ALL rec families or just the families of kids that they are recruiting? |
Everyone |
My pet turtle got an email from Valor recruiting. |
Are you talking about the invitation to the interest meeting? Yeah that went out to everyone whose kids are registered for rec, at least in the younger age groups. We have a U7 kid and got it. It's just a meeting where they go over the travel program and give people a chance to ask questions. |
They send out emails to all older rec kids about tryouts and then later on, if they need warm bodies for their lower teams rosters, they invite rec kids to join those teams. |
They didn't post on social media any of their 2nd team or lower coaches for U13 and up boys or girls. I guess they don't care or think anyone else care about those teams. |
LMAO |
Agree, the club needs major restructuring in this area for assessing players. There's no incentive to stay when you can essentially tin cup somewhere else for better opportunities in equal competitiveness. Not much future value in players that continue to rapidly develop. If you don't set standards today, then you create an institution where the atmosphere remains stagnant. How are you maintaining the best? |
I only agree with 110% of what you said. =) |
Here's the coaching list.
https://www.virginiavalorfc.org/2024-2025coaching-staff Are they going to hire the missing coaches by tryouts? Even third-fourth-fifth team players deserve to know who they are getting as a coach before joining the team (and don't the coaches have to be at tryouts to pick their team?) |
No coach for the second 2014 girls team but they have coaches for the lower teams? That's weird. Did someone drop out? |
Originally they had SA for both pre ECNL and gold 2014 girls, which I thought was strange. Makes more sense that it’s a spot they are trying to fill. |
Answer: NO, they will not. They want to understand the demand signal first...overhead cost. They need players (taken from anywhere) to build out the team before funding the coach. |
But some of the teams missing coaches are existing teams, like the third 2009 boys team. |
