What happened to NYC?

A thug with 7 prior arrests punched a lady directly in the face last week in Brooklyn.

The man fractured her face, permanently damaged her lip, and knocked out teeth.

Franz Jeudy is already out on the streets.

He was released without bail.

And the marine who defended a busload of people is still in jail.

You mean, the guy who KILLED someome? You really don’t see a difference there?

Just last week a man was shot and killed on the subway in NYC. The person doing the shooting was not charged, citing self-defense. It was the right call, IMO. What are the differences in these cases?
- the race of the person who did the killing (Penny is white - the shooter is black)
- the DAs responsible for handling the cases (Penny's case is being done by Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg. The other case is being handled by Brooklyn DA, Alvin Gonzalez.)

Penny's case is self-defense also. As well as the defense of everyone on that subway train.
If justice is done, Penny will be cleared of all charges at the trial.

How on earth can someone like this just be released?? Crazy town.

He probably suffers from mental illness. Jail isn't a mental health facility.

Um... SEVEN prior arrests, and then punching a woman in her face, causing fractures and knocked out teeth - and now he's out on the street?? You cannot be serious. Lock this thug up. I bet if he had attacked your mother or daughter you'd be singing a different tune.

There are a lot of problems in the subway right now, so they've called in the national guard to help make people feel safer.
But millions of people ride the subway every day, and there are few incidents. But even a single incident scares millions. It's always been like this.
When I lived in NYC decades ago, people got shoved onto the tracks and died. Scared everyone, but people still took the subways.
There were migrants and tons of homeless people then. Rudy Guiliani pushed the homeless people off the streets and into shelters, so it seemed safer.
But NYC is NYC, and it's as dangerous as always and as safe as always. It's a big city with big city problems that increase and decrease, as do such problems in all cities.
Go back to sleep, OP.

Great summary.

Subway rider killed by some mentally ill loon.
Tragic.

Mayor Eric Adams renewed calls Tuesday for Albany to take aim at rampant recidivism in the wake of two horrific acts of violence that left an NYPD officer and an innocent subway-rider dead.

The Adams administration held up the state’s revolving-door criminal justice system as one of the main unaddressed issues — along with mental health — driving the spate of crime and random violent incidents in the Big Apple.

“What’s interesting is that our practices, laws and policies are not going after these issues,” Hizzoner said during a sober conference from City Hall.

Adams highlighted Monday night’s bloodshed as a clear example of those problems coming to a head — with the shooting of 31-year-old cop Jonathan Diller allegedly by a career criminal in Queens and an unhinged man accused of shoving a 54-year-old man to his death at an East Harlem subway station.

New York Governor Hochul tried to attend the wake. They told her to get out. She left.

Gov Hochul was asked to leave.

Biden held a fundraiser instead of attending the wake.

Trump attended the wake and sent a floral arrangement to the family.

The officer has a one year old son.

The gunman accused of shooting and killing NYPD officer Jonathan Diller has more than 20 prior arrests, according to Mayor Eric Adams.

The ex-con suspected of killing an NYPD cop was so conditioned to crime that he had a shiv stashed in his rectum that night — anticipating he might be busted for something, a police source said Tuesday.

Guy Rivera, 34, was in the passenger seat of a Kia Soul around 5:50 p.m. Monday in Far Rockaway, Queens, when a couple of NYPD “quality-of-life” cops, including Officer Jonathan Diller, spotted it illegally parked in a bus stop, the high-ranking source said.

Rivera was wounded when the cop’s partner returned fire, and he was taken to the hospital, where an X-ray revealed he had a homemade shiv — a sharp razor or smallish knife — hidden in his butt, the source said.

The family did not want any politicians who have promoted progressive policies when it comes to crime in attendance. They believe that this officer's death is directly because of those policies..... had this career criminal been behind bars, Officer Diller would still be alive.
They told Gov. Hochul as much.

Maybe his death will be a turning point, but I am not hopeful.

David Axelrod suggested on Thursday that the money President Biden raised from his swanky Radio City fundraiser will likely mean more in the long run than the negative optics of his event contrasted with former President Trump attending the funeral of a slain New York police officer.

In a post on X, "Defending Democracy Together," founding director Bill Kristol labeled Thursday as an "unfortunate day politically for the Democrats."

"Biden does a fancy NYC fundraiser in the midst of chaotic left-wing street protests--looks like limousine liberalism plus the breakdown of law and order. And Trump attends the wake of a slain NYPD police officer on Long Island," Kristol wrote.

Axelrod, a former senior advisor to former President Barack Obama, admitted that Kristol's perspective was "not wrong" but went on to defend Biden.

But in the big scheme of things, the $25 million will probably mean more than the look," Axelrod replied

Can you blame the officer’s family? David Axelrod said the quiet part out loud. Biden and democrats do not care.

Wow. The look. Attending a fallen officer’s wake is a look.

NP. Not a bot. My 19yr daughter just visited with another 19yr. Young, attractive women. They went for a concert, spent the night. Never felt unsafe. Loved it.

Op, get off social media, go outside and touch grass. You need it.

+1

We were just there and explored all over. It was fine.

OP is pushing RWNJ talking points.

Seriously. Most of these people peddling this crap about how "liberal cities" have become like Mogadishu must never get out of their mom's basements to actually experience life and instead just get all of their knowledge from the right wing echo chamber.

This is very funny! hahahah

Axelrod's take on this is disgusting, really. But, what I would expect.
Biden hasn't even called the family.

Crime is terrible but I don’t think most people pay attention to these events. I just saw TWO shows there with my family. The tickets were cheaper than a sports game or a music concert. The theatre in NYC is top notch. My kids now like it and I hope they pass on the love of art to their children

Good bless america! Good bless new york and it’s wonderful artists who gather there!
