Aww look at the loser gullible GDS parent who REALLY believes someone would turn down all of these schools for GDS. He/she seems almost giddy with pride posting the college acceptances of OTHER peoples children. |
Are you saying you don’t think that the private school affects where your child will end up at college? |
For the most part it doesn’t except in terms of selection effect. GDS has a strong cohort of kids at the top of the class and their college decisions reflect that. But if you put a more average student at GDS the school wouldn’t improve admissions. In most cases for that type of student it will be neutral or negative. And the matriculations of the bottom or middle-bottom of the GDS class also reflect that |
Can we stop all the GDS love? It’s having a moment, but let’s be real, it doesn’t have the history, prestige or alumni base of other area schools.
|
GDS is younger than Sidwell or the Cathedral schools, but its alumni are distinguished and accomplished. It also deserves recognition for being established as an integrated institution — of course, that doesn’t mean it’s a more progressive institution today, but it’s certainly historic. |
Turned down SAES for 6th grade. |
Don't be too hasty; you should think long and hard before turning Starfleet Academy down. |
You won't regret that. |
Stone Ridge for Georgetown Visitation |
Why? |
Saes, Bullis, Good Counsel for SSFS (9th) |
ACDS, Congressional, BSSM for SSSAS for K |
Congratulations! Our child really liked SSFS, but we couldn’t make the commute work for our family. Best of luck to your child. |
Please elaborate |
