Yard Sale to Support Access to Legal Information

JusticeAccess will be holding a yard sale on Sunday, April 27, 2025, to support its legal reference desk programs. Proceeds will support the JusticeAccess mobile law library, established as a nonprofit organization in 2021 to bridge the “justice gap” in legal information. JusticeAccess's team of librarians fill critical information gaps for the up to 97% of parties in DC appearing in court without an attorney present. Although JusticeAccess librarians do not provide legal advice or represent clients, our law librarians aid community members by making legal information accessible and confidential. Items available at the yard sale include a wide range of clothes, shoes, accessories, books, CDs, DVDs, toys, games, kitchenware, small appliances, tableware, and more! Our goal is to offer low-barrier access to legal information to underserved communities in the District of Columbia. JusticeAccess offers confidential, convenient legal research assistance to residents of DC. Members of the public who need to help themselves address their legal problems face high barriers to accessing and using legal information; JusticeAccess lowers these barriers by providing legal reference online and in the community.
