Walt Whitman High School’s award-winning drama program presents its genre-defying winter play, “Arcadia,” Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 26-28, at 7 pm in the school’s Daryl Shaw Auditorium (7100 Whittier Blvd.). Widely considered to be one of the most influential pieces in contemporary theater, Tom Stoppard’s “Arcadia” explores the intertwined stories of two casts of characters from two different eras: a 19th century British family and the 20th century historians determined to discover their secrets. At once hilarious and heartbreaking, the show plays out against an unexpected mix of themes, including math, poetry, love, and extinction. Reserved tickets are $20 each; unreserved seats run $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are now available online at whitmandrama.ticketleap.com. Tickets will also be available in person from the box office Feb. 22-25, 6-8 pm, and on show nights beginning at 5:30 pm. For ticket questions or special requests (such as handicapped seating), contact whitmandramatickets@gmail.com. Please visit www.whitmandrama.com for more information.
