Girls age 11-17 and their parents/guardians are invited to a Welcome Party/Open House to meet the girl members and women and men adult leaders of Scouts BSA Troop 248 in the District of Columbia. There will be demonstrations and a chance to learn about the outdoor adventure, advancement, service and other fun things our Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls does throughout the year. This is the program that used to be called "Boy Scouts" but is implemented in an all-girl setting in our Troop.
We have our meetings on the first and third Saturday mornings of each month from 10 AM to Noon at All Souls Episcopal Church, 2300 Cathedral Ave., NW Washington, DC. Just off Connecticut Ave., between Woodley Park Metro Station and The National Zoo. We go camping on the forth weekend of each month and go to a summer camp for a week each year.
Do you want to become friends with other GIRLS across Washington, DC, explore the outdoors, become a leader of GIRLS and have fun learning and traveling? Want to climb to a Shenandoah mountaintop, earn awards and maybe even become an Eagle Scout? How about riding horses at the BSA Diamond-O Horse Ranch, paddling canoes on the Potomac River, and getting to know women and men who run businesses or government agencies right here in the District? How about high-adventure at places like Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico or the National Sea Base in the Florida Keys?
You have found the right group for all these things and more in Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls. This is the all-girl Troop led by and for GIRLS here in the District of Columbia! All GIRLS are eligible to join from anywhere across the Metropolitan area!
You can join our troop if you are a Girl age 11 to 17 years of age. You can also join if you have earned the Cub Scouting Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10.
