We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting a webinar on a very popular Post Adoption topic
"Telling the Adoption Story in the Early Years” on Wednesday, February 19 from 7- 8:30 pm.
Topics to be covered will include:
Common parental concerns in discussing adoption with children
Typical development stages of young children, and how they may impact an adopted child’s thinking on his/her adoption
Empowering your child to view his/her adoption from a healthy perspective, and providing tools on how to respond to questions from others and your child
When (and if) to explain circumstances of the adoption in ways your child can best understand
Who is this webinar for?: Parents of adopted children up to the age of six
Facilitator: Varda Makosvsky, LCSW-C, LICSW - Barker's Family and Post- Adoption Clinical Specialist
You will need a computer with speakers or a telephone to listen to the audio, and if you would like to view the slide show presentation, and/or ask questions in real-time you will need to use a computer. Once you have registered for the event, your dial-in number and access code will be sent to you via email 24 hours before the event.
The Department of Family and Post-Adoption Services is pleased to present events and workshops for everyone within the adoption constellation, regardless of whether Barker was your placing agency.
