Following our mission of empowering youth through music, Use Your Voice Juniors is a Ukulele Songwriting Camp recommended for children ages 5 - 10 years old who would like to creatively explore music by playing the ukulele, singing and writing original songs. Family and friends are invited to enjoy a final concert featuring all of the campers!
No prior music experience needed (although more advanced students are welcome—they will be grouped together). Students will receive ukulele and vocal instruction, as well as collaborate in writing/performing a song.
Our ukulele instruction will focus on introducing basic chords (F major, C major, C7 and beyond), strumming patterns, and performing both traditional children’s folk songs and original compositions. We will read books featuring musical themes and lead the children through simple songwriting games and exercises. Sound Impact will perform chamber music daily for the children, showcasing ukulele, string instruments and vocals.
