Maryland’s tomatoes will soon be in season, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate all things tomato - from zesty sauce and heirloom varieties to inspired chef creations. To fete this flavorful fruit, North Bethesda Market will host its first Tomato Festival outdoors on Saturday, September 10, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Cooking competitions, tomato-themed promotions and displays, live music, and even a spaghetti eating contest combine to make a festive recipe for family-friendly fun on a late summer day.
