Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Walk/Run

Everyone gets a teddy bear when they cross the finish line in the Race to Give All Children a Strong Start. This year, a morning event, with the 5K at 8 a.m. and 1K at 9:15 a.m.
5K runners, ages 6 to 86, and parents with strollers, compete for great prizes including dinner at several local restaurants, a Potomac River cruise, and a soccer party for kids.

Park at Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, 7230 Idylwood Rd., then join the Teddy Bear Parade to the 5K start/finish at Pimmit Hills Park. Course takes runners thru shaded Pimmit Hills neighborhood to Olney Park and back. 1K at 9:15 am starts on the field behind the Children's Center to a shaded flat path.
Proceeds support Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, an affordable, high-quality preschool dedicated to preparing children from low- and moderate-income, working families to be ready for success in school and in life.
