In these workshop, children ages 5-9 along with their parents, will learn how to act aware, calm and confident; how to take charge and get help.  What to do in situations being lost, being approached by strangers etc. Our goal is to empower young children with the full range of skills they deserve in order to escape from all type of situations including emergency situations as quickly as possible. A parent MUST attend with child.

DC IMPACT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that offer full-force self defense training for adults, teens and children in a safe, supportive and age-appropriate environment. We teach a repertoire of simple and effective verbal, physical, and psychological strategies through individual and partner practice, drills and scenarios with male instructors in padded gear. (for older children, teens and adults).

Two of the main programs we base our techniques on are the “Safechild Program,” researched and developed since 1978 by Dr. Sherryll Kraizer, and the Kidpower program developed by child-education specialist Irene Van der Zande since 1988.  DCSDKA Director Sensei Carol Middleton has worked in close association with both of these programs, has been an advisor to Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International since 1988, and is a certified instructor in that program.

Fee is $39 for each child (parents are free).  Preregistration is required. To register got to www.dcimpact.org
