Eating dairy foods is an essential part of celebrating Shavuot (a springtime harvest holiday that also celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai). We love ice cream and want to make it with you! Grab a grandparent or special grownup friend, have them meet you on our zoom call, and make ice cream in a bag. You will need: 1 cup half and half, 1.5 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp sugar, ice, 1/4 cup salt, and two Ziploc bags (1 small, 1 large).
This program is a collaboration of the Edlavitch DCJCC, the Bender JCC Grandparenting Center, Pozez JCC’s Growing Jewish Families and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
