Marvel at centuries of dazzling craftsmanship in gold and silver as we explore the treasures of Peru’s rich pre-Inca heritage. To celebrate the opening of the new National Geographic Museum exhibition Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed,Fredrik Hiebert, National Geographic’s Archaeology Fellow and the exhibition’s curator, will be joined by Cecilia Bakula Budge, director of the Museum of Peru’s Banco Central de la Reserva. These experts on Peruvian art and archaeology will explain the significance of these masterpieces in precious metal, as well as other rare objects from Peru’s glorious prehistory. And see the originals, many of them visiting the United States for the first time, in our spectacular exhibition.
Co-presented with the Embassy of Peru. Opening night party and museum admission included. Please note that the party begins at 6:30 p.m. prior to the Grosvenor Auditorium event at 7:30 p.m.
