Hello,
My name is Iman Bakayoko and I am currently the PR coordinator at the Kennedy Center. I wanted to inform you about the National Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming performances of “Because” on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. (sensory-friendly) and 4 p.m. This world premiere production is an adaptation of Mo Willems’ book and it features projections of artwork from the illustrator Amber Ren. We would love to be included in your weekend round up and/or emails to your readership.
Because tells the story about a little girl who loved the music so much, she started studying music and learning to play various instruments, and through hard work and luck, she became a composer and conductor herself. The performance will feature music by female composer Jessie Montgomery.
Following the 4 p.m. performance, attendees will get a chance to participate in a creative discussion with author Mo Willems, Felicia Curry (director), Jessie Montgomery (composer), Jeri Lynne Johnson (conductor), Amber Ren (illustrator), and a member of the NSO.
We hope to inspire the creativity of children through the power of music and artwork with a moving performance from our diverse cast!
Please let us know if this would be of interest to you.
