During this workshop we will take a look at our current relationship with food and eating through journaling and mindful dialogue and learn and practice tools for being with the parts of us that struggle with using food as emotional comfort and those that judge us for eating too much. We will work gently with meditations, slow movement, self-compassion, and mindfulness exercises. No experience necessary and all body shapes are encouraged. Annie will join us for a book signing after the workshop. Annie Mahon is a yoga and mindfulness teacher and founder of the Circle Yoga Cooperative and DC Yoga Week. She is also an ordained lay Buddhist minister, licensed massage therapist and is active in much of the grassroots community yoga and mindfulness activities in the Washington, D.C. area. Annie writes a mindfulness blog at rawmindfulness.com and recently published her second book entitled, Things I Did When I Was Hangry: Navigating a Peaceful Relationship with Food. She is also certified as an Inner Relationship Focusing professional, and has studied and practiced non-violent communication for over a decade, including with Marshall Rosenberg and Robert Gonzales. Sister Jenna is the director of the Meditation Museum and host of the America Meditating Radio Show. Listen in as Annie recently joined Sister Jenna on the America Meditating Radio Show to discuss her journey and mindful eating.
