Monster Jam® Thunders into Washington, D.C. Monster Jam Trucks to Arrive in the Nation’s Capital January 24-25, 2014 (Washington, DC) – For the first time since 2011, Monster Jam® returns to the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. January 24 and 25, 2014. Monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate almost 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. They whirl and fly 130 feet into the air, amazing audiences of all ages. Patrons with a ticket to the show on Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 pm, plus a valid Pit Pass, can kick off the event in the Party in the Pits from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. During the Party in the Pits, fans and families have an opportunity to see the trucks up close and take photos and get autographs from their favorite drivers.
