The Sankofa Group Kwanzaa Kamp 2014 is a four-day enrichment camp that educates youth on the history, relevance, and celebration of Kwanzaa. Throughout the camp youth will learn the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles) of Kwanzaa (in both Ki-Swahili and English), why these principles are important, and how they can be incorporated into their everyday lives. Daily activities will include: story-time, arts and crafts, African dance, music, oral history lessons, and more!
The camp is offered to K-5th grade youth and will run from December 29th - January 2nd (closed on January 1st for New Year’s Day). Our day will begin at 8:00am and end at 1:00pm- before care will be offered from 7:00am-8:00am each day. Cost: $50 per child, $10 for before care.
