Join us on Mother’s Day weekend for a blood drive and maternal health awareness event in Alexandria dedicated to saving the lives of mothers. This is a FREE, kid-friendly event that features free crafts to make Mother's Day cards and a photo booth to dress up as your favorite superhero. The event also features guest speakers who will talk about important maternal health topics and the resources available to mothers today - including postpartum depression, pregnancy, fitness, health, nutrition and more.
Heroes for Moms is organized by moms who survived in part by blood transfusions after giving birth. Please consider joining us and donating blood that day. Free and open to the public, however, we are asking for donations (diapers, clothing, baby items) for moms and babies in need for non-profit My Grandmother's House. Donate blood and be a hero for moms!
Saturday, May 13 from 10:30 to 3:00 at Alexandria Beatley Library, 5005 Duke St, Alexandria VA 22304
