Heritage Day at Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park

Heritage Day is Peirce Mill's FREE annual celebration of traditional crafts, and this year we'll have lots of new things for kids to do and see!

Master Weaver Chapuchi Bobbo Ahiagble from Ghana will demonstrate West African Kente strip cloth weaving, and the Needlechasers of Chevy Chase will have a quilting project for kids to make and take home.  There will be more hands-on activities for children in our craft tent.  We'll also have a blacksmith, a carpenter, bluegrass music, a cider press, and a corn sheller. The mill will be running from 11:00 to 2:00, and a food vendor will provide lunch options for hungry millers.
