NW Washington, D.C. kids getting ready for math competition at Mathnasium -- over $3000 in prizes and $400 to local schools.
Mathnasium’s TriMathlon contest is designed to encourage kids to engage in math and to support local schools. Children at all levels of math ability are invited to participate.
The competition, open to 2nd through 5th grade students, will be held on June 2nd at the Mathnasium Math Learning Center at 3706 Macomb St (at intersection of Wisconsin and Macomb, across from 2 Amys). Participation is free and registration is now open.
“Mathnasium’s TriMathlon provides a wonderful opportunity for kids to engage in math in a fun way that also gives back to the local schools,” said Khaatima Zaid, Program Director of Mathnasium of Cathedral Heights. “We’re proud to offer this event and inspire more kids to develop a love for math.”
Students do not need to be enrolled in a Mathnasium center to participate. Winners at each grade level will have money donated to local schools on behalf of their participation.
All participants, regardless of how they place on the test, will receive fun goody bags. The overall value of prizes for this year’s Cathedral Heights competition is valued at over $3000.
