Explore ways the environment can inspire design and be intentionally integrated into and around built spaces. Fold origami flowers, construct and decorate your own nature-inspired miniature bӯobu screens, and listen to a springtime story. Discover how landscape architect Lawrence Halprin (1916-2009) created artistic and ecologically sensitive compositions to enliven American cities (exhibitions ticket required). Picnic in the Museum and join other families to design a large-scale paper garden to help bring spring into the Great Hall. Offered as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival®.
Free, drop in. All ages. Adult supervision required.
