Bring your young explorer to the Zoo this weekend for "Boots the...Ape?!," a Dora and Diego-inspired Zoo class for 4-7 year olds! You many know that Boots loves helping Dora solve problems, but did you know that orangutans and gorillas are also great problem-solvers? Boots introduces us to some of the biggest members of his family: the Great Apes! Children's Zoo Classes use crafts, science activities, music, and the Zoo's animal collection to help young animal lovers learn about environmental conservation and life science while building important developmental and social skills. Children will get to touch and explore bio-artifacts to support their learning, but there is no animal contact during this class. The exploration begins Saturday, February 7 from 10:00-noon. Pre-registration is required. $28/child for FONZ members. $35/child for non-members. 4-7 year olds only with adult. Learn more and register at http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Education/Classes/childrensclasses.cfm Please note: class content is inspired by Dora the Explorer; there will be no actual cast members present at the class.
