All children deserve a Sound Beginning. According to the CDC 1.6% of all students are diagnosed with hearing loss. Imagine life not being able to hear your teachers or classmates, music or car horns, or your mother say “I love you.”
There are nearly 50,000 students in the public school system in Washington DC. Do you want to make a difference for those who are deaf or hard of hearing? Ideas, connections, strategies and help is needed to develop:
- free hearing clinics to diagnose and help kids hear,
- a hearing aid recycling program for kids and parents in need,
- and classroom sound amplification systems for kids to learn.
Bring a friend and join us for a come and see strategy meeting at the MLK Library, 901 G Street NW, at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7th.
