David Doubilet is a legend in underwater photography. Recently, he has teamed up with his wife and photographic partner, Jennifer Hayes, also a noted aquatic biologist, to explore Kimbe Bay in the East Indies. This colorful underwater paradise, which Doubilet describes as “more alien than the edges of space,” contrasts sharply with the Arctic and Antarctic. There, despite the harsh environment, they found life pulsing beneath the ice. Join these groundbreaking artists for a journey through unique marine environments.
The National Geographic Museum will be open until 7:15 p.m. on June 4. Get admission to A New Age of Exploration and our other exhibitions for an additional $7 when you purchase your ticket to this event.
