This introductory workshop is geared specifically to teens and young adults. Students learn techniques for verbal de-escalation and boundary-setting, physical strategies for dealing with standing confrontations, and practice these in simulated attack scenarios with a male instructor in padded gear. An emphasis is placed on addressing situations involving conflict with acquaintances, as this is the highest risk category for young women (occasionally taught as co-ed).
$149 with 7 days advanced registration and payment, $169 within 7 days of workshop. To register: www.dcimpact.org
