The Big Meow, inspired by the book by Baltimore author, Elizabeth Spires, is the story of an ever-hopeful fluff ball who desperately wants to belong to the band of neighborhood cats. Told through word, movement and music, The Big Meow is a story of hope, courage and the need for belonging. These simple themes are part of every neighborhood, but in this wonderful tale told through the experiences of Little Cat, a potential weakness is a unique strength. Choreographed by Jane Franklin, The Big Meow, has been presented in partnership with local libraries, public schools and other outreach locations.
Forty+ Project, an adjunct program of Jane Franklin Dance, celebrates the collective creativity of people past the age of 40. Projects bring choreographers and community members together to explore creative ideas. For this performance we are happy to present hip-hop inspired stylings choreographed by Certified Life Coach, Wellness Educator, Dancer, Choreographer, Host of @thriveandthread Podcast and Founder of @thelionsdendmv, Lauren DeVera. DeVera’s Come Party! brings together a group of friends reliving their days of clubbing and partying; an invitation for us to keep that spark alive!
