Burkittsville is an historic, virtually unchanged example of an American village of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The educational walking tour highlights three centuries of historic architecture as well as lovely private gardens. Guides will provide information on the history of the village and individual historic buildings while home owners will answer questions and tour their gardens with guests. The event is open to all ages.

All proceeds will benefit the Burkittsville Preservation Association’s (BPA) restoration of the historic Hamilton Willard Shafer Farmhouse that served as Union Headquarters during the Civil War’s Battle of South Mountain.
