This event will showcase live music, an indoor light show in the Cathedral, and a screening of the 1982 animated film “The Snowman,” accompanied by a performance of the movie’s soundtrack by a live orchestra. The event is ticketed and open to the public; tickets available here: https://bit.ly/2YVHfC0.
Coming between Christmas and New Year’s, the event will create a “musical snow globe world” in the Cathedral, with lights being projected on the walls and vaulted ceiling and Christmas music playing. This is the first year the Cathedral is holding a “Holiday Light Spectacular.”
The music ensemble at the event will include the following: “Carol of the Bells,” “Walking in a Winter Wonderland,” “Silver Bells,” “Snow Day,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Oh What A Night (Late December ’63)” and “Let It Snow.” It will also include a performance of “Walking in the Air” by a live orchestra, from the score of “The Snowman,” among other tracks from the movie.
