DAY ONE - Tuesday, March 18
6:00 – 6:45 PM EST - Preparing Your Student for the Online Learning Revolution
Alternate forms of education are on the rise throughout the world, offering families many choices in the way they school their students. Educating children online is one powerful, engaging way to provide them with direct, hands-on support. Learn the importance and value of online schooling.
7:00 – 7:45 PM EST - Private School Offerings
K¹² offers three unique private schools for families across the globe, as well as the independent schooling option. We will explore and review The George Washington University Online High School, a premier 6–12 college prep program; K¹² International Academy, a global K–12 school offering individualized instruction; The Keystone School Program, a middle and high school program providing flexible enrollment options; and the K¹² independent schooling option.
8:00 – 8:45 PM EST - Public School Options
Kindergarten through 12th grade students in many states are enrolled in online public schools or "virtual schools" that partner with K¹², Learn how these tuition-free public schools operate with requirements, teacher support and involvement, socialization and meeting specific state testing as required by various states. This is a general overview session about K¹²’s online public schools.
DAY TWO - Wednesday, March 19
10:00 – 10:45 AM EST - Support for Parents
Online schooling K¹² does not mean that you are alone in your journey. In addition to teacher support, numerous programs are available to you, such asspeaker series sessions with helpful tips, parent hotlines, parent clubs and communities, and refresher courses just for parents.
11:00 – 11:45 AM EST - Early Education Programs
How do young students learn? What important skills are required for a student entering kindergarten and through the 3rd grade? As parents, how do you best approach and identify your student’s learning style? Learn what skills are valuable and necessary for an early learner and the tools K¹² provides to give your student the edge for learning success. Learn about K¹²’s fun and education early education programs.
12:00 – 12:45 PM EST - Private School Offerings
K¹² offers three unique private schools for families across the globe, as well as the independent schooling option. 1:00 – 1:45 PM EST - How Does Online Learning Work?
This hands-on session will allow you an opportunity to see how lessons are accessed, how live, ‘class connect’ sessions are managed, how students interact with each other and their teachers, how grades are posted and all aspects of the online experience. We will also share the top tips on making online learning successful for your student.
2:00 – 2:45 PM EST - A Day in the Life
Learn from parents as they share their insights into their ‘typical’ day. Learn how they incorporate socialization, teach multiple children, set up their classroom, communicate with their teachers, and manage it all while working with their student to achieve academic success.
3:00 – 3:45 PM EST - Using K¹² Independently
Families choose to use K¹² independently to take advanced placement courses, learn a foreign language, recover lost credits, or enroll in electives that might not otherwise be available. Using K¹² independently provides you the opportunity to add one or more courses to your schedule, with or without teacher support.
4:00 – 4:45 PM EST - An Introduction to The Keystone School
The Keystone School offers curriculum for students in grades 6–12, both through online and correspondence options. Learn about the new Keystone Plus program, the types of students who attend Keystone, and how lessons are organized and grades and progress provided. Discover the Keystone difference and what makes this school work for such a variety of students.
5:00 – 5:45 PM EST - Public School Options

K¹² International Academy is an accredited, online private school that offers the world-renowned curriculum from K¹² and is available for students in grades K – 12. Extensive, individualized support is focused on unlocking each student’s unique potential. Students connect in and out of the online school, building their 21st-century skills while safely interacting, chatting, and participating in clubs with other students from around the world.
DAY THREE - Thursday, March 20

This hands-on session will allow you and your student to work through part of fan actual K¹² lesson, connect with a teacher and other students and see how online learning comes alive with rich content and interaction. Join us and see first-hand how students interact with their teachers and fellow students while learning valuable academics through ‘class connect’ sessions.
12:00 – 12:45 PM EST - An Introduction to George Washington University Online High School (GWUOHS)
The George Washington University Online High School (GWUOHS) is an online private high school that offers more than 100 college preparatory courses, including Comprehensive, Honors, and AP® classes, as well as a variety of electives in liberal arts, science and technology, and business and entrepreneurship.

Led by several of our private school counselors, this session will focus on the preparations required during high school for acceptance into college. Where have online students been accepted? What are some of the benefits of our private school offerings for college readiness? How do you prepare for the SAT? How do you write the dreaded college essay?
