It’s time to get your paws on some pawpaws! Meadowside Nature Center will celebrate this delightful native fruit with music, crafts, games, expert advice on pawpaw cultivation, and most importantly a pawpaw tasting station. We’ll have pawpaw fruit and trees for purchase. But most importantly, what's a pawpaw? This native fruit has a tropical, electric taste. Its exterior flesh is green and very unassuming, but the insides are pale yellow, with dark brown seeds in the center.

Looking for a creative activity to get and do with the kids while staying cool this month? Stop by the Kentlands Mansion from August 14-17 between 9am and 3pm to help create a one-of-a-kind art project. This free project is for 2-12 year olds and their parents. Outline and paint your hands to help create the City’s tree logo and paint a picture or message on rocks to place around Gaithersburg using the #GaithersburgRocks hashtag. Looking for a fun show where your teens can be in charge of the music selections? Bring them in for an afternoon of live music and enjoy some safe indoor summer fun!! We're opening our doors once a month for a teens with beats show! We'll give your teenagers a place to hang while enjoying all of their favorite song requests performed live! This monthly 2 hour show will kick off at 4PM. Ticket price of $20 will include lunch buffet plus fountain beverages. Bar will be open for parents and guests 21 and over with proof of ID
