The Near Northwest III Safety and Mobility Study is ending soon but the projects are just beginning! The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host the final of three (3) virtual public meetings for the Near Northwest III Safety and Mobility Study. The study’s objective is to improve safety and mobility within the study area through quick-build projects in Logan Circle, Shaw, Cardozo, U Street Corridor, Howard University, Columbia Heights, Mount Pleasant and other neighborhoods in Northwest DC.

She is a member of the MCCPTA and moderator of the MCCPTA COVID-19 Response Facebook group and an Admin for one of the local Buy Nothing Facebook groups. Open House on Zoom to learn about USCG Auxiliary official national youth program, Sea Scouts. DC-based Sea Scout Ship 25 is part of a national maritime Scouting program that started in 1912. It is an inclusive program for all young adult women and men age 14 but not yet 21 (or 13 and completed the 8th grade). It’s operated through Sea Scout “Ships”, groups of young adults who are guided by adult advisors. We wear sharp uniforms, meet twice a month on Saturdays (usually in the mornings) at the DC Harbor Patrol Headquarters and have a lot of outdoor activities on and off the water, including social gatherings.

By learning about seasonality, the labor of planting seeds, and how gardens were depicted in the Federal period, Girl Scouts and children from the general public will appreciate where their food comes from and recognize the importance of gardens in the past and the present. Registration includes a tour of the house, a garden activity booklet, and a real planting to take home!
