Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls Open House by cburkhardt, last updated: Sep 30, 2022 08:15 AM
(Postponed from 10/1 to 10/15 due to severe weather) Girls at least age 11 (or 10 and finished fifth grade) and a parent or trusted adult are invited to a welcome open house to learn more about the DMV's largest Scouts BSA Troop for Girls. We meet from 10 AM to Noon on Saturday twice each month at All Souls Episcopal Church, 2300 Cathedral Ave., NW (between Woodley Park Metro and the Zoo). This is the program formerly known as “Boy Scouts” in an all-girl implementation. Our Troop is all-girl, comprised of many sub-groups known as “patrols”. We follow the identical citizenship, outdoor adventure and physical fitness program. We are intensively outdoor-oriented, with monthly campouts and big annual trips to go backpacking at places like Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico. Stop by and learn about us!
