Story Time @ CJM: Passover
by lorenz.brunner, last updated: Jan 15, 2026 02:50 PM
Celebrate Passover with local author Claire Freeland! She will be reading and signing her new book “My Passover Seder,” and together we’ll learn about and prepare for the seder with songs, crafts, and stories from Jewish Washington’s long history of the holiday. Join us to read stories, sing songs, and do crafts and activities for children under 5 and their caregivers. Each program features a different theme and book suited for children of all backgrounds as they learn about themselves and the world around them. Presented in partnership with Bender JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, Pozez JCC and PJ Library.
Story Time @ CJM: Chesed
by lorenz.brunner, last updated: Jan 15, 2026 01:56 PM
Brrr! Escape from the February chill with the Capital Jewish Museum. We’ll read “A Hat for Mrs. Goldman: A Story About Knitting and Love” and consider how chesed, loving-kindness, can keep us warm. We’ll play with yarn and make pompoms as reminders to show each other kindness and warmth all winter long.
Story Time @ CJM: Renewal
by lorenz.brunner, last updated: Jan 15, 2026 01:56 PM
Happy New Year! As we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026, special guest librarian Susan Kusal is going to read “Joseph Had a Little Overcoat” , and we’re going to think about how old things can become new. Crafts, playtime, and a Museum exhibit visit will help little learners connect with the Museum, the concept of renewal, and each other.
Story Time @ CJM: Using Your Voice
by lorenz.brunner, last updated: Jan 15, 2026 01:56 PM
How much power does a single voice have? We’ll read “Pearl Moscowitz’s Last Stand” and visit the Museum’s latest special exhibition Blacklisted: An American Story to discover how each of us can use our voice to stand up for what’s right.
Story Time @ CJM: Inclusion
by lorenz.brunner, last updated: Jan 15, 2026 01:56 PM
February is Jewish Disabilities Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month, and to celebrate, we’ll be joined by Gesher Jewish Day School teacher Nicholas May to read “I Talk Like a River,” and share his experience with stuttering. Then, we’ll visit the Museum to learn about other disabled Jewish Washingtonians and wrap up with songs and dance that celebrate everyone and every body.

The Great Re-Replacement Theory
by Jeff Steele, last updated: Jan 13, 2026 06:38 PM
Cult leader, convicted felon, and failed President Donald Trump and many of those in his administration are believers in the Great Replacement Theory. Apparently fearful of losing non-Hispanic White majority status, the administration has embarked on policies aimed at removing non-White immigrants while encouraging White South Africans to move to the United States.

Trump Investigates Jerome Powell
by Jeff Steele, last updated: Jan 12, 2026 02:37 PM
In what is a clear pretext to apply pressure to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, the administration of cult leader, convicted felon, and failed President Donald Trump has opened a criminal investigation into Powell. This is another indication of Trump's dictatorial instincts. However, it also may be another example of the "neo-royalist" theory explaining Trump's behavior.

The Lies the Government Tells
by Jeff Steele, last updated: Jan 09, 2026 09:03 AM
The administration of cult leader, convicted felon, and failed President Donald Trump is a government of liars. Yesterday's shooting in Minneapolis led to more examples of government lying, following an already dismal record that has created mistrust of the government in the courts.
