Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) middle school science teacher, Roger Gluckin, will present a lesson on the Water Cycle. The Sun’s energy is responsible for many processes on Earth. This lesson explores how the Sun changes water from a liquid to a gas and back again, driving the water cycle. This cycle is very important to all living things on Earth.

We invite you to join this STEM focused event to learn about our online DC public charter school program called CAPCS Online and see firsthand what a virtual classroom is like! Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) middle school science teacher, Roger Gluckin, will present a lesson on the Solar System. The Solar System is a dancing collection of planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteors. They all whirl about the Sun according to the law of gravity. Students will learn about the planets and learn their names and comparative sizes.

Join us for a family-friendly afternoon as we usher in the New Year with a special Klezmer concert with acclaimed band, Machaya. European Jewish immigrants in the late 19th century brought Klezmer music with them to Washington. Our historic 1876 synagogue, founded by mostly German immigrants, once housed services, prayer, and music in Yiddish. Help us welcome Yiddish back to the building with refreshments and a sparkling cider toast!
