Open House for Girls age 10.5 (and graduated 8th grade) through age 17 to visit and join Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls. Girls must be accompanied by adult. Girls will join a Troop meeting of our Scouts in progress and adults will separately meet with the women and men of our 9-person Scoutmaster Staff to learn about Scouting for girls in our organization. Bring masks and gloves for this outside and socially-distanced gathering.

Our 6th session, What's (NOT) to Eat 4 Dinner?! Combating Picky Eating in the Time of COVID, will provide information related to all of the underlying components of eating (did you know that there are actually 32 steps to eating?!) and some of the common reasons that children are picky eaters - especially during this time of immense anxiety in our society. We will also provide tips and tricks to increase food variety, strengthen your child's relationship with food, and reduce family stress around mealtimes! This session is suited for parents of children of all ages and ability levels - not just babies and toddlers!

Skills on the Hill is here to support you weekly as you manage the delicate balancing act of keeping safe and healthy while keeping your child socially connected and tuned in. 2020 has been quite the roller coaster - SOTH is here to help. Our fifth session, We are BOTH in Fight or Flight // Co-Regulation 101, will leave you with specific ways to manage tense moments at home with our children as anxiety levels continue to rise while social distancing recommendations continue to stay. Learn preventative strategies to avoid big blow ups, ways to intervene during acute stress events and, most importantly, how co-regulation can provide the support, coaching and modeling our children need from us to learn how to manage that stress. This session is suited for parents of children of all ages and ability levels!

Zoom Meeting for Parents interested in a Sea Scout group in the District. Sea Scouts is a co-ed high school aged program for young women and men. It promotes better citizenship and improved members’ boating skills through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage. The vision is for a Sea Scout group to start in Spring 2021 and meet twice each month at a location in the District accessible by Metro. Meeting will describe the program and allow participants to become involved.
