Everyone knows that if there was a problem, anyone would have tackfully said something. Just can't imagine you could say absolutely nothing, if you saw a child being neglected or abused, unless you felt unsafe.

Also, you mention nothing about the woman's accent. Did she speak English and did the kids speak English? If she had an accent then she obviously isn't the mother if the kids speak English. Also, were you 'inspecting' her so much that you noticed she had no wedding ring?

-is a different ethnicity
-has a different accent
-doesn't appear to be married
-looks better or less well dressed than the children
-is older/younger than is expected
she must be then nanny. Whether intentional or not, your opinion, which seems to represent a vast majority of the opinions about nannies, are very insulting. Perhaps one day you will be mistaken for your own child's nanny and you will see how truly hurtful this can be.

Yeah but both posts are completely different stories. One had to do with a little black girl and a toddler and the other had to do with a toddler fighting with another little boy.

Ok well then if they are completely different stories how could it be used to try to make someone look bad? If they are written as if they are about different people then it's not directed at one person.

Both situations are different but it seems to be the same 'blond foreign childcare giver' in the Pentagon City area. As if someone is out to make a blond foreign childcare giver look bad for whatever reason.

For those of you who say she should've stepped up right away and said something to the woman, I'm curious as to what, exactly, you think it will accomplish? 2 minutes of the nanny/mom pretending to be nicer to the little girl until they leave? Wow, that is sooo much better than what OP did, right? Psh. I hate when people "do the right thing" because it makes THEM feel superior and good, but don't actually stop to think about the situation itself.

I am honestly asking you what else you think could be accomplished by "speaking up"? Because my opinion is that the OP did the "right thing" by surreptitiously taking pics/videos and noting what the woman/kids look like so she can hopefully alert the parents and ultimately, get the horrible nanny fired. If she jumped up and said, "hey! Stop doing that!" what would the nanny do (assuming it's a nanny here)? Most likely ignore her, respond with a short 'ok', or get annoyed and angry, and tell her off. Then they walk away, and you are back to square one, with no "evidence" or memory of the nanny/kids.

Now, if it is for sure a mom we are talking about, i might feel differently. That would be a situation where I might think saying something is the best course of action, since your other options are limited.
