Not sure why only Americans get the best out of this program when virtually every developed country has this program and Americans sometimes ARE the Au pairs. I’ve met American Au pairs overseas; it’s a great program. Obama’s mom was an Au pair. BTW, the US pays its Au pairs the most. [/quote]
Imo it's mostly exploitation of young naive women (usually) who typically can't afford to travel on their own.

I can see what I see. These girls are afraid to report their abusers because they don't want to experience the shame of getting "sent home" as a failure.

There simply isn't much incentive for the agencies to do the required work to search for a successful re-match. The 14-day limit isn't enough time. It's more profitable to send home the victimized (whistleblower) au pair, and get the abusive family a brand new au pair.

And yes, sometimes these girls are getting sexually assaulted by the man in the house when his wife isn't home.[/quote]
