We treat our aps like family and each of them has told us repeatedly how happy they are with their time with us. The cultural exchange is paramount to us and having flexibility with our weird work schedules is needed. Yes, some people abuse the program but I don’t think it is the majority by far.

If even one au pair is treated so shamefully, this program must be discontinued.

It makes a huge difference to the mis-treated snd abused au pair, doesn't it?

I was told by my employers that they couldn't afford me. However, I am beginning to believe it was more my age than anything else. When I was told of my employment coming to an end I started calling and asking around to find another job. I've gone on may interviews and no one would hire me. They have given me all kind of excuses to why they don't find me employable but none could say to my face, it's my age...because of lawsuits I was told....I wish one was bold enough to tell me the truth as my friends have. My work history is impeccable, I've always aimed to do the best job possible and I believed I have done an excellent job with all the families I had the opportunity to worked with. Someone says it's time to pack away my working shoes. However as for me I am not ready just yet.

Lmao wasnt Trump's wife a foreigner and came to this country with a work visa or aupair and with a work permit plan snd got inmediatly a permanent residence from Trump?
Lol hypocrites, look at yourself in the mirror.![]()
Not sure why only Americans get the best out of this program when virtually every developed country has this program and Americans sometimes ARE the Au pairs. I’ve met American Au pairs overseas; it’s a great program. Obama’s mom was an Au pair. BTW, the US pays its Au pairs the most.
