Stupid parents are letting predators watch thier kids through the CAMERAS
It’s not 2014, security on internal cameras has vastly improved.
No. Still happens a LOT. It's easy to hack cameras from your own house! If you have one of those cameras that can speak too then the hacker will try to talk to your kids too. It happens
You know what else happens “a lot“? Caregivers being caught on camera abusing their children or elderly patients. I can cite five cases that made national news this past year. How many cases can you cite in the last year of an unknown predator using a home security system to groom a child? I’ll wait. Because that would, of course, be national news. It’s disingenuous to think that predators are using home security systems in some large scale to get to children, and that therefore no one should have a camera in their home. By that logic, children should not go to school because a predator could see them on the playground, or teens should not have cell phones, because predators can and do reach them via social media. When the drop cam and nest cam were released 10 or so years ago, the lack of security was insane. No encryption, no two factor authentication. They have come a long way. I’m not saying it is not Hackable, but not in the way that PP‘s are making it seem. And like I said, home security systems can do a lot of good. This isn’t that different from most jobs where you are using a company computer. All company email and Internet usage is monitored. And if you aren’t doing anything wrong, that shouldn’t be a problem.
