Don't really know what a pandemic has to do with it unless that's part of the going somewhere you're not supposed to.

This is a brand new nanny & a mom during a stressful time w/ her first kid. You're taking DCUM rules re: disclosure as though they're some kind of gospel she should know. If a nanny cares this much, they should mention/ask during the interview process; this nanny didn't. Omission is not the same as deception if you don't start from the assumption that she knew she was supposed to reveal. Anyway, I don't track my nannies and the only cameras are visibly displayed in the baby's nursery and older kids' attic playroom and have nothing to do w/ the nanny. I just think OP should cut this mom some slack if she's otherwise a good employer. Based on DUCM gospel, asking nanny's to do some housekeeping is offensive... but, in real life, 90% of nannies do some housekeeping.[/quote]

Oh, come on!  Your feeble attempt at justification is like finding out the guy you’re dating is married and his excuse is, “well you never told me I had to be single!”

Tracking or recording an employee without their knowledge or consent is simply wrong.

And asking a nanny to clean up after adults is insulting.  [/quote]
