Why would anyone not want to get the vaccine? Truly curious here.
There are small numbers of adults who are not advised to get a vaccine. Safety is not established in pregnant women. There have been a few life threatening reactions to mRNA vaccines in people with histories of anaphylaxis, and right now people who have a history of anaphylactic reactions to other vaccines and I believe other medications, are advised to wait. People who have a severe reaction to the first dose might be prevented from getting a second dose. There may also be people who have significant immune issues either innate (e.g. SCIDS) or acquired (e.g. transplant patients) who can safely take a vaccine but may not benefit. Those people would be protected under ADA and employment law, and you would not be able to fire them for not getting the vaccine. There are also large numbers of people who do not understand the vaccine, or deny the seriousness of the virus, or don't believe in vaccination, and will choose not to get it, even though getting it would be the prudent thing. Those people are not protected by employment law. Employment law allows people to be fired for no reason, or almost any reason, as long as they aren't being fired for for their race, or gender, or disability or a few other things.
