Even if you have hired a low skill/minimally educated nanny, she deserves a livable wage.  I think she’s highly skilled if she can put up with the likes of you.

I’m a moderately educated nanny.  I have a masters in social work and then realized I didn’t want to be a social worker.  I make a lot more as a nanny and I’m much happier.  Social work requires a masters and a large skill set but pays very poorly.  There isn’t always a correlation between education, skill set and income.  It’s not that simple.

My partner passed the bar two years ago and I’m still making a little bit more than her.  She attended a Penn State law and was top of her class.  As PP said, lawyers are aplenty here so they all aren’t going to make three figure from the gate.   A good nanny can be a hard find.  I know my worth, and I’m paid well.  I know I can make only so much as a nanny, and my partner will end up making double my wage in the next five years.

But the “low skilled, uneducated nannies” troll bit is old. [/quote]
