The nanny gets the same guaranteed hours no matter what. If the family want to plan a vacation while the nanny is using her PTO that doesn't mean that the nanny doesn't get to use the rest of her PTO. I frequently will do a quick long weekend trip while my nanny is away- if I need childcare, might as well take PTO from my job and have a day off with my kids. [/quote]
